Picking the Perfect Doggo for You

Picking the Perfect Doggo for You

It’s the Yettie in the Pink Underwear here to tell all my 💜Tribe Members💜 about how to pick the best dog breed! Different breeds have different personality traits, so keep some things in mind when you’re picking out your new best friend. All dogs need attention and care no matter the breed. The first thing you need to make sure of before adopting is your readiness to take care of a pet! Once you decide you’re ready for a dog, then you can pick the best breed for you. 😁

If You’re Looking for a Loyal Friend

Loyal dogs are great for people who are looking for a protective and dependable pet. If you want a bigger dog, Samoyeds, Siberian Huskies, and Akitas could be perfect for you. Smaller breeds like Papillons and Tibetan Spaniels can also be territorial and protective despite their size. 💪 These dogs can be great with families, being both fun-loving and brave at the same time.

If You’re Looking for an Obedient Dog

There are a few breeds that are most commonly trained for specific jobs like medical support, therapy, rescue, and more. 🦮🐕‍🦺 These well-known breeds include Golden Retrievers and German Shepherds, but Maltese, Havanese, and Dutch Shepherds are also easy-to-train breeds. Of course, these breeds don’t need to be working dogs, but they’re obedient, hardworking, intelligent, and perfect for many jobs. If you do want to train your dog to work, it’s important to make sure they have the personality to handle it. While some breeds are more obedient as a whole, every dog has a different personality, just like people and Yetties. 😜

If You’re Looking for a Cuddly Buddy

Your lifestyle is relaxed and you most likely want a dog that can lay around with you all day. 😴 While all dogs need some exercise, young pups and smaller breeds tend to be more energetic. The best dog for you is one that’s peaceful and laidback. Giant breeds tend to fit this description, like Mastiffs, Pyrenees, Newfoundlands, St.Bernards, and other big mountain-type dogs. The rumor that small dogs are lazier is totally fake, most smaller breeds can run circles around a Yettie like me!

If You’re Looking for a Playful Pet

If you want a dog that will get along well with kids, or if you’re a kid at heart, an energetic breed will fit your adventurous life. 🏃 Playful pets are often also curious, smart, and affectionate towards their owners. Independent breeds like Dachshunds, Pomeraniens, and both breeds of Welsh Corgis are known as cute and energetic types. These perky pups are great with children who love to play, and are generally really happy. 😁

If You’re looking for a Social Butterfly

If you want a doggo that’s social (like me), they’ll fit right in to an adventurous and curious lifestyle. These breeds love people and other animals, so they’re perfect if you already have a pet, or if your house is full of people. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 English Foxhounds, Beagles, Rhodesian Ridgebacks, and Basset Hounds are breeds that thrive off of attention. Some of these dogs can still be protective and territorial, and some might still need time to warm up to strangers.
